      Re: 1 controller controls 2 players

      Hi everyone, I followed the same kind of procedure for a couple of games and it worked great , like Micromachines 4players, no problem - however for Yuyu Hakusho it seems that the game only supports TeamPlayer (not multitap) , and somehow the mapping does not work for more than 2 players. Should I look for alternative emulators or ROM, or is there anything else I should be checking ?

        @cherbakalite Hi there. This is one I can answer!

        Genesis games used a handful of different configurations for multitap games. The setting that works for Yu Yu Hakusho is "MD Joypad 6 Button + Team Player" for both user 1 AND user 2. If the game ROM file is gamename.rom, you can create a file in a text editor called gamename.rom.cfg (note the .rom.cfg at the end) and include these lines:

        input_libretro_device_p1 = "1793"
        input_libretro_device_p2 = "1793"

        Put the config file in the same folder as your ROM, and it will keep the multitap settings saved for that game. Just make sure "save config on exit" is set to OFF in the RetroArch settings. Like you mentioned, other games will require different setups. I am happy to help out if you run into other issues.

        I am also known as "StormedBubbles"

          @cherbakalite @ChaosEffect an alternative if you don't want to bother changing device types for console games (including megadrive) is to use FBNeo : every emulated console game has the "optimal" controller settings hardcoded.
