Lr-PPSSPP Lag/Freeze Issue

I recently did a clean install of Retropie and I'm having problems with Lr-PPSSPP. There are long freezes during gameplay, probably during loading. For example GTA: Vice City continues to show the loading screen while the intro movie (sgt. Martinez) is playing. The audio plays fine but the screen is not updating. It does a similar thing at the wooden bridge to the left of the army base, the game freezes as you mount the bridge but you can hear your vehicle drive and crash (because you can't see where you are going) before catching up.

This issue is not present with PPSSPP standalone. Is this a known issue with Lr-PPSSPP. I'm sure I have not changed any of the settings in Lr-PPSSPP to cause this.

RetroPie Version Used 4.7.1 fully updated
Built From: Pre made SD Image on RetroPie website
USB Devices connected: None
Controller used: PS3 Pad (Bluetooth)
Error messages received: None
Emulator: Lr-PPSSPP

Hello , i have more problems GTA games , Vice City , Burnout dominator and some other i think the most recent PSP games boots fine and menus are ok.
But in the game the graphics are broken and unplayable. Cars and people falling trough the road and grass etc.
Same roms / dvd content are fine on ppsspp win10 desktop machine.

Tried vulkan on the PI4 but more and the same problems, also tried booting retropie standalone image and on twister os same result.

PI4 / 8GB
32 bit or 64bit kernal on twister os same problem.
ppsspp without retropie same problem.
Al on the latest updates of may 2021

Can anyone give some advise.
