[Solved] Lakka theme in Emulationstation
-
Hi,
I know Lakka theme is a XBMC/Kodi theme but, is it possible to have something similar in EmulationStation/RetroPie?
I really love Lakka theme and loading states from the menu but I use and need EmulationStation/RetroPie.Thanks in advance!

@magarto Lakka is retroarch. When in a game, press select+X and you will be in the XMB. This is essentially Lakka

Mmm, thanks!. So is there any way to have that XMB theme in Retroarch in a Raspberry Pi?
Lakka OS includes it but I do not know how to add and set up it.Edited: It is supposed to be in the next menu but I couldn't find it: Settings tab (Select + Triangle in my case in a PS3 controller) --> Menu --> XMB Theme
-
I found in Lakka OS the directory /usr/share/retroarch-assets/xmb where the xmb files are stored... Where should I copy this directory in RetroPie? I can find only ~/RetroPie and /opt/retropie directories, not /usr/share/retroarch-assets/

Lakka uses the RetroArch XMB menu driver, RetroPie uses the RetroArch RGUI menu driver.
You can change to the XMB driver on RetroPie but no XMB theme is included, so you just get black squares where the icons would be.
You could include the Lakka XMB theme, or any of the XMB themes shipped with upstream RetroArch.

Thanks, so how can I add it? I can check this but I do not where is the menu to download it and where to save it: https://github.com/libretro/Lakka/wiki/Menu-drivers
-
I can see that if I select "xmb" in retroarch setting "setting/driver" and I addhttps://github.com/libretro/retroarch-assets/ folders in ~/.config/assets/ and "save settings" ("save settings on exit" should be enabled before), in "settings/menu" I can select (after exiting retroarch and opening again) retroactive but there are no icons as you told me.
Should I move /usr/share/retroarch-assets/xmb/retroactive/png/ or svg/ files to ~/.config/assets/xmb/retroactive?? Or I have to do something different?
Thanks in advance.

Anyone could help me? I have black icons.
Thanks in advance!! -
I can see there's an empty directory
/opt/retropie/emulators/retroarch/assets
, try that. -
Yeahhh! It works!!! Thanks!
Solution is: select "xmb" in retroarch setting "setting/driver" and add https://github.com/libretro/retroarch-assets/ folders in /opt/retropie/emulators/retroarch/assets and "save settings" ("save settings on exit" should be enabled before).

Just a note that I encountered issues with the XMB theme in RPi:

Worth noting in case you also encounter some weird issues.
