Ive managed to write a few shell scripts to run 2 of the games pikiss allows you to download , namely the mario 64 port and half life. I can get the games to run from emulationstation, but because runcommand isnt used (because i dont know how to impliment it) my bgm continues to play. How would one go about making sure runcommand is evoked before the game is launched?

You'll need to run the games through runcommand - this means:

        • changing the launching command to runcommand and providing the appropriate paramenters (see how other systems in EmulationStation are using it)
        • providing an emulators.cfg configuration file so runcommand knows how to launch your game(s). Depending on the system used, this file should be placed in /opt/retropie/configs/<system> or /opt/retropie/configs/ports/<port>.

But I think it would be easier to add the 'stop/startc music' commands in your launch scripts - before and after the launch of the game itself.

@mitu thank you! That was the best way of telling me how to do it without telling me how to do it. I added the mario 64 port and got runcommand evoked no issues. Music stopped and the leds in my case changed as scripted so again. Thanks 😁
