This is my first time installing Retropi, i've done others but not Retropi. anyways i wanted to do a 2tb hard drive boot, this way i can have everything i want and not have to worry about a sd card filling up. Can anybody tell me how i can do a hard drive boot or point me to a forum that has the steps. I have a Raspberry Pi 4 8gb Ram

You can write the RetroPie image directly to the drive and boot from it - assuming your PI has USB boot enabled. If USB boot is not enabled, then you'll need a sdcard to run Raspberry Pi OS and enable it from raspi-config.
