      System:

      • Raspberry Pi 4B
      • Retropie 4.7.13 installed on top of Raspbian Buster
      • Started over SSH w/ screen
      • 4k TV as the monitor and an old xbox one controller
      • Forced to 1080p in boot/config.txt

      Issue:

When trying to boot roms with Drastic, I get sent back to the menu.

      runcommand.log :

      Parameters:
      Executing: xinit /dev/shm/retropie_xinitrc -- vt/ -keeptty

      (EE)
      Fatal server error:
      (EE) Unrecognized option: vt/
      (EE)

               at http://wiki.x.org
       for help.
      (EE)
      xinit: giving up
xinit: unable to connect to X server: Connection refused
      xinit: server error

Note: All the NDS roms are unzipped, and the rest of the emulators work. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

This happens because you're launching EmulationStation from a screen/remote session. Start EmulationStation from the console or set it to auto-start - as explained in the installation document.

          Oh, that works. Thanks! :]

One more question though, why does it only throw out this error for Drastic?

Because drastic is one of the emulator that needs an X session/desktop environment to work correctly and starting an Xserver over a remote session is not possible. There are a few other games/ports in a similar situation - they are set this way only if it's the only method of making it work or behave correctly.
