      Hi everyone.

I am currently working on a CM4 console with a close friend of mine that will be powered by a Raspberry Pi CM4 inside of a Switch Lite housing.

We're nearing the end of the project now, but I thought people would like to see how we are progressing with it here as it will be powered by RetroPie. I'm ironing out a few issues with the custom PCB at the moment and finishing off the custom code, but we are hoping for a late July finish. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask, happy to answer :)

      Brief specifications:

      • 5" IPS display via HDMI
      • Dual Switch Lite Joysticks
      • Stereo speakers
      • Resin Cast buttons and dpad
      • Anodized aluminum housing
      • Custom Copper Heatsink and fan
      • Raspberry Pi CM4
      • AIO PCB including arduino (for control input), battery management, backlight boost and audio amplifier
      • Battery monitoring and SoC indication via fuel gauge
      • USB C PD Charging and data transfer, supporting the original Nintendo Switch charger
      • Docking features, including USB hub for 4 players and transferring files over USB 2.0 to the Pi
      • External HDMI output
      • 4000mah battery for 2 hrs battery life on demanding systems, 4hrs on older retro titles

@stonededge that looks amazing. whats the plan for this. are you guys maybe planing to release the data so people can build their own. or are you guys maybe planing to sell them?

i was just thinking that i needed a new project and a portable Pi was my plan, but i think mine would be more in a cardboard box, since i have no way on making cases, lol

Hi! Not entirely sure yet what we will do, it's all up in the air at the moment. The design needs to be changed a little bit to prepare for injection molding cases and also to not infringe on Nintendo's patents.

If we do iron out a lot of the issues, we've got a small roadmap written out for us to take it to market, but I can't really guarantee anything at the moment unfortunately...
