      Hello together,

      My problem is that, regardless of whether I have a Bluetooth dongle or the built-in Bluetooth receiver (in the Pi4), I cannot establish a connection to my Bluetooth devices if the distance from the device to the Pi4 is greater than 1 meter, e.g. my Bluetooth keyboard, which has Bluetooth 5.1 standard. My dongle that I bought should last 20 meters.

      I have paired my Bluetooth keyboard with my notebook to test the keyboard for functionality. I was able to walk several meters from my notebook and the keyboard worked. The problem I have should be somewhere in the Pi4.

      Has anyone ever had an answer or was able to solve the problem himself?

      Thanks in advance for an answer.

            Do you have the Pi in a case that could interfere with wireless ? Are you using the USB3 or USB 2 ports for the BT dongle ?

              @mitu

              The case can not interfere because it is made of plastic and the effect is the same for both USB ports (USB2 and USB3).

                unrelated but config_hdmi_boost=4 does nothing on a pi 4. see https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/configuration/config-txt/video.md

                  I solved the problem myself and bought the right Bluetooth dongle.

                  Thanks.

                    @jhny0 I know that this topic is quite old, and at this point, I am doing necromancy, but what model dongle did you buy? I fought one, which thechnically works with linux machines, but the range... Well lets just say a short wired controller has better range.
