      Having problem with the sound in video previews. The sound is generally bad and crakling. It's only the previews that's affected. Sounds work good everywhere else. Even when the videos play as screensavers.
      Using:
      Rpi 3B+
      Offical PSU
      Retropie v4.7.1
      3.5mm audio to a old JVC amp

        Have you tried overclocking your system?

          @addison No I haven't . Would that help? To OC I would need a new case or something else to cool it I think .

            I had to overclock my Pi 3 back in the day.

            It made quite a good difference too.

            Be sure to have all of the needed heat sinks applied and you'll be fine.
