No Sound in Emulationstation V2.9.6RP

As per title.
On boot up I have sound from splash screen video but no sound at all in emulationstation.
Forced sound through HDMi still no joy.
Press start whilt in ES for sound settings to find volume set to 0, turned up to 100 come out and go back in and again set to 0???
Press F4 for terminal at top is message" Failed to find mixer elements!"
Retropie audio set to HDMi ES setting default\HDMi

Solved had to set audio to HDMi in Raspi-config as well
