Use the File Manager menu from the RetroPie system and navigate to the /home/pi/RetroPie-Setup/logs folder, then view the log file by pressing F3. Post the contents of that log file.

The error comes from using an old Raspbian version (based on Debian Stretch), which seems to have an old python3 interpreter - not compatible with joy2key_sdl.py.

Didn't you get a message, after updating, that your system is no longer supported ?

@nestor1924 Use a compatible OS and this issue will not be present. Get the latest RetroPie image and install it, then transfer your ROMS/BIOS/configs over from your existing installation.

@nestor1924 You'll have to transfer them from the \\retropie\config folder and place them into the same location on the new system. If you've got custom scripts/systems/etc, you'll have to re-do the customizations on the new image also. You should backup your existing image before upgrading to a new one.

Two days ago when you asked this on Reddit, I told you it would. Did you forget to check back there for replies, or did you just not believe me?
