Where to buy HW within the European Union
-
Hi,
I would like to buy a kit with all of the HW I need to set up RetroPie, but the recommended sellers are from UK (outside of European Union) or US/Canada (Same problem).
It's a lot easier with regards to tax and handling fees, if I can buy from within the European Union. Is anyone aware of any HW sellers with the European Union.
I have an arcade machine set up using a pre-historic laptop and a VGA monitor - wired up to old arcade gaming controls.
I want to throw out the laptop and re-use the VGA monitor and the arcade gaming controls (buttons and joysticks)Any help is apreciated!

Plenty of them - have you looked up locally for any sellers that have Pis in store ?
For a list of approved RPI resellers, just try to buy one of PI models from raspberrypi.org and at the bottom of the page you can choose a reseller based on your country - see for instance https://www.raspberrypi.org/products/raspberry-pi-4-model-b/. -
RS Online exist all over Europe. I am in Spain and there are several online arcade suppliers here.
Google is your friend! -

RS Online is a good one
also reichelt.com ships from Germany and has allot of good priced stuff i'm fairly sure they also sell to consumers.
and on the official Raspberry page, you can select your country on a product place and it will show you a bunch of local resellers also. -
I think the problem is that most resellers don't have any boards on stock, due to the chip supply issues going on at the moment (see this older article about how the global chip shortage affects the RP Foundation).
Looking at reichelt.com, their stock shows some PI models (but not any Pi4 models) as 'available in 6-8 days', so they're waiting for stock to come in.
In my case, the only stock my local resellers have is some Pi Zero and Pi 3 A+, without any Pi4 models available. -
I think a "pre-historic laptop" rivals most (not all) Raspberry Pi hardware specs unfortunately. XD
