I noticed that RetroPie officially supports OpenTTD under "Ports", but the only way to install it is via binary. According to the RetroPie-Setup script, under "scriptmodules/ports", this effectively calls

      sudo apt install openttd

Unfortunately the version available on the Raspbian repos lags behind the official released version at the OpenTTD website. Currently on my Raspberry Pi 3B+ running Raspbian 10 (buster), the available version on the repo is 1.8.0, and the newest available version is 1.11.2! And I think version 12 is coming out soon (they started to drop the "1." part).

Is it possible to add an option to install OpenTTD from sources (which can be downloaded from GitHub here)?
