Right now I have a keyboard connected by wire and 4 wireless controllers. The 4 controllers connect on boot (vibrate, gets the right led lights), but they are unusable. The buttons do nothing on the controllers, but the keyboard works. If i go to bluetooth and choose the option to connect all mapped bluetooth devices then they start working. How can I have them do this automatically? Maybe I could add a script that triggers that after all other things have loaded?

Running latest version retropie for pi0, running on pi0w (not pi0-2)

Please add more details about your setup, as requested in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.

Have you tried starting the controllers after the Pi is started (in case you're not doing that already) ?
