Hi I’m very new to the raspberry pi and I was recommended I should update the script on my pie however after doing that every time I go to raspberry pie set up I get a long text string appears ending with the message unable to install package required by/home/pie/Retro pie – set up/retro pie_packages.SH – could not install packages: subversion python3-pyudev dirmnger
I would highly appreciate if someone could help me because iv been looking for a while now and can’t figure it out.

Did you lose Internet connection? There are a lot of files that it can't download.

You're running on an older Raspbian release, which is no longer supported by the Raspberry PI folks and by the RetroPie.
You may be able to fix the error by running from the command line

          sudo apt-get update

but that won't guarantee that the rest of the update will work.

If you wish to update to the latest version, you should backup your sdcard's contents (see here) and re-install the latest RetroPie image on your sdcard.
