I'm trying to enable cheats on the lr-dolphin core. I have the standalone dolphin core installed and have cheats working on that fine. However, the standalone hotkeys seem to be keyboard/mouse only, I don't see a way to map controller buttons so I'm sticking to the libretro version where RetroArch hotkeys work fine.

Problem is getting cheats to work with the libretro dolphin core. Based on a reddit post I found it looks like enabling cheats on standalone and copying the ini to the GameSettings folder will also work.

What I don't know what paths RetroArch uses for the Libretro Dolphin core where I would copy the ini files from the standalone dolphin core.

RetroArch's _system_folder is set in RetroPie to the BIOS folder ($HOME/RetroPie/BIOS). Try copying the cheat file(s) in BIOS/dolphin-emu/Sys/GameSettings/.

@mitu Do I need to create the dolphin-emu folder structure? because it don't have it inside my BIOS folder

I do have that folder structure inside /opt/retropie/emulators/dolphin but if I'm remembering correctly that is the stand alone version of dolphin?

According to the libretro docs, yes, that folder should be created. However, the same page says that internal Dolphin cheats are not supported, so that step may be useless.
