@hawkes_84 Capacity wasn’t the issue. I have been finding that less is more. Too many games gets overwhelming and can leave folks scrolling instead of playing. Part of the fun of this project was making hard decisions on what games to include. Reminded me of making playlists back in the day. 😂
-
@cnoto interesting take on it. I guess having fewer games means you'll dedicate more time to the ones you have. I hope CnC Red Alert was on there
-
@hawkes_84 I did not have Red Alert. I hadn't really heard of it until just now. Going to check it out, thanks for the tip. Here is my list in no particular order. Welcome thoughts!!! The rule is...if you add one, you must take one away too. ;)
I tried to really spread out to genres.
Castlevania
Crash
CTR
Final Fantasy VII
Gran Turismo 2
Legacy of Kain
Mega Man X4
Silent hill
Resident Evil
Spyro
Street Fighter Alpha 3
Tekken 3
Tomb Raider
Tony Hawk 2
Twisted Metal 2
Wipeout 3
Driver
Hot Shots Golf 2
Medal of Honor
Metal Gear Solid
Parapppa
Oddworld
Gran theft auto 2
Suikoden 2
Jet moto 2 -
@cnoto solid list. All the greats. Red Alert is a real time strategy war game that I just love to play but if you're not into them then leave it. I would say add a Syphon Filter and maybe Res Evil 2. You could probably lose Spyro, Crash Racing and Hot Shots Golf :)
Oh add Tenshu Stealth Assassin too! -
What emulator are you using for psx? lr-pcsx_rearmed and lr-duckstation play the games way too slow on the zero2
I love the idea of converting an existing console with a Pi.
Though i have trouble finding broken ones for sale in my region, and i'm not willing to sacrifice one of my working ones. :-p -
@crush think I'm using rearmed but will have to check tomorrow. Not away of a decent 3rd option
-
With the release of the new Retroflag PiStation Case, there has to be a PSX themed frontend emulator that can accompany it. Like the SNESES for the SuperPi Case, and the Blast16 for the MegaPi Case.
-
@crush this was made from a broken console I found on ebay. I am using rearmed, but agree that it is not ideal for every game. Perhaps future versions of retropie will better support ps1 on the zero w 2.
-
@crush i actually have ps1 running pretty well on the pi zero 2 w. Are you using the weekly image? I havent tried overclocking it yet to see if I can squeeze any more performance out of it.
-
Confirmed that overclocking does help performance. I made the following changes:
arm_freq=1150
over_voltage=3
