If i switch on attract mode video snaps works

My question is, is possible set the video snap player in retropie /emulationstation ? and use the sameone of attract mode ?

EmulationStation uses either VLC or OMXPlayer, depending on whether OMX is enabled in settings or not. You could try toggling this on (or off, depending on how it's set now) and see if that does the trick?

There are two settings, one for the video screensaver and one for the general video snaps.

omxplayer is only enabled on a RPI, so the option will not be available on a Jetson system.
@Rommell76 without a Jetson nano system it will be difficult to diagnose this, since none of the developers have this board. What are the details of your installation - distro, arch, ES version, etc. ? Does vlc work for the videos you're trying to play ?

@mitu Hi I am using the official ubuntu 18.04 distribution and I install the official Retropie 4.7.19

Omx player is working only under Raspberry and unfortunately vlc player has troubles on Jetson nano board.

what is making me mad is that under attract mode everything works probably because attract mode use the default video player installed ( parole )

But I wish look forward for complete my system under retropie due is more much suitable so what I am looking for is if there is some retropie/emulationstation config file where i can define wich video player I must use for play the video snaps.

            Sorry for my horrible english

I think AttractMode uses the ffmpeg libraries directly, which may have better support for the board. You can check with ffplay as video player and see if it works.

There's no other configuration available for EmulationStation, the built-in video player player uses the VLC libraries to play video and can - optionally, on the Raspberry Pi - use omxplayer. In your case, you don't have any choice, the VLC library is used for video play.

If you could find a configuration/package version for vlc that will work for your system, then maybe ES will be able to use it and don't crash on the video, but otherwise I don't see another option right now.
