ON a fresh install of retropie I get to the input setup and if I tap a button on the controller, it registers it. It also sees the kbd that I have plugged in. However, once I press and hold a button to get input configured, it shows, in this case a Logitech dual action. After that, nothing works. I have to SSH into the pi and reboot it.

        Forgot a few things:

This is a standard Raspberry pi, not a 2 or 3. It's the one with the composite connector.

I checked the .emulationstation directory and there's no es_settings.cfg file.

Tried it again...it gets as far as the "OK" at the bottom of the screen, but the welcome screen is still there, and the 4th block flickers a bit. Here is a shot of the screen:

Once it gets here, it won't take keyboard input or any form of input. I can SSH into it still, and I can run the joystick test without an issue.

Fixed. Reinstalled and all is well.
