I'm trying to get my pi 4 4gb working with retropie, and not having luck. It's in an arcade1up cabinet, so I'm using a couple USB encoder boards for the buttons/joysticks. Also, the AC adapter is official, and is in a aluminum case with a fan built in, to keep it cool.

I keep getting the emulation station crashed blue screen. I tried both stable and weekly versions with no luck. When i went inside the cabinet to look, i noticed that the led lights on the USB encoder boards keeps flashing, which I'm assuming means that it constantly keeps disconnecting and reconnecting. When I seen that, I came across a possible solution of adding a line of code to the cmdline.txt file, which didn't work for me.

      Any solutions?

Get a powered USB hub and use it to connect the USB encoders to the Pi. The Pi may not be able to provide enough power for the encoders.
