Guide used: (Mention if you followed a guide)
File: (File with issue - with FULL path)
Emulator: (Name of emulator - if applicable) Genesis plus
Attachment of config files: (PLEASE USE PASTEBIN.COM FOR LARGE LOGS)
How to replicate the problem: Most noticeable in rpgs/top down view

I should of tried these games months ago but I have been hooked on dreamcast. I have noticed on other emulators mainly genesis major screen tearing. Sonic and other titles so far play fine, I mainly just notice them on rpgs. Phantasy Star 4 is just unplayable its that bad. I just set up a pi3 and they play fine. I figured well maybe I messed something up in this setup. I started from scratch still having the same tearing issue. I have another bran new pi4 in the box I just set up and the screen tearing is the same. I have read through posts but did not find a resolution. Can anyone assist? I was going to try some things on my own but at this point I don't want to mess anything up. I have also updated the retropie script. Also, should I update the pi instead of doing the setup script?

        What is your display resolution?

You can find this in the raspi-config tool in Emulation Station.

If your Pi's resolution is displaying more than what is needed on your monitor, that could be the cause of troubles on screen tearing.

By default, the emulators should work correctly as given.

            You mentioned a monitor.

Do you know its screen resolution?

So for example, my TV can handle 4K.

The Pi was like, okay, I'll send out 4K resolution then.

That's not even remotely needed though.

So yeah, you might want to hard fix the resolution in the Display Options and set it accordingly.

              Cheers and good luck. :)

@dankcushions Sorry, I missed putting it into my post. It is a Rasperry pi 4. @Addison changing the resolution in the display settings seems to have fixed it. Looks like my pis didn't like the TVs resolution. I am guessing it was 4K. It also cleared up all menu lag and the picture just looks better. You guys are all brilliant. Cheers.
