Hello! I've been getting my RetroPie set up and noticed some things that could be improved in the built-in scraping process, but after reading some old posts and looking at the code, I have questions before driving in.

Is the current default scraper expected to remain so? There seem to be half a dozen others now, between external shell scripts and separate web sites and such, all of which seem to be regarded as superior in various ways to the default. Is there a reason none of them have been integrated into the UI as options yet, other than just that nobody has bothered?

I guess what I'm wondering is ifit's worthwhile to try to make improvements to the current default scraper, or to instead work on getting one of those alternatives working inside ES, if the current scraper is planned to be retired anyway.

Is there any data on how many people use each of these scrapers, to judge where some upgrades would provide the biggest benefit?

There are no plans to 'retire' the built-in scraper, improvements are always welcomed.
