      Good day.

I'm at a loss as to what could be going wrong here, and I'm hoping for some help
      Raspberry Pi 3
Retropie 4.7.2 (original downloaded image - retropie buster 4.7.1)
      SCUMMVM 2.5.1 Jan 10, 2022 pre-assembled binary build

I'm able to load in SCUMMVM, find games in the ROMs directory, and add them to via the +start SCUMMVM utility. When I try to run them in either the game directory or the +start utility, it shows the launch popup, goes to black, shows the launch popup again, and then brings me back to the +start menu I loaded from, or the games directory if I tried to load from there. I've tried multiple games but get the same response to all.
Run command log is as follows (using beneath a steel sky freeware version from the scummvm website). This log is similar for all games, with the exception of the game name change:

      Parameters:
      Executing: bash /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/scummvm/+Start\ ScummVM.sh "sky"
WARNING: Could not get GLSL version!
Using game controller: Saitek P2500 Force Rumble Pad
Virtual keyboard pack 'vkeybd_default' loaded successfully
User picked target 'sky' (engine ID 'sky', game ID 'sky')...
Looking for a plugin supporting this target... Beneath a Steel Sky
Using game controller: Saitek P2500 Force Rumble Pad

      • failed to add service - already in use?

Could it be the glsl warning?
I've updated scummvm, used it via source, and even tried the lr-scummvm experimental package, and no dice to any. I've also updated retropie via 'basic install' in the retropie setup menu, as well as updating the start up script and installed packages. I've searched the forums for a few days looking for a similar issue, but could only find instances where folks weren't able to launch via the games menu, but could via the +start scummvm utility. Any guidance would be appreciated.
      Thanks,
      Ryan

WARNING: Could not get GLSL version!

Could be related to the new version. Did it work before 2.5.1 ?

It was working on version 2.5.0 if i remember correct. I had test on the Pi4, no problem there.

@mitu I installed with the latest version, so unfortunately I don't have that as a comparison myself.

I had success on a Rpi3 with this https://retropie.org.uk/forum/post/256690 a few months ago. Enabled vc4-fkms-v3d and installed libglew / libglew-dev

Albeit I don't know if enabling vc4-fkms-v3d has some knock-on effects for other emulators.

So it's probably something with 2.5.1, I'll take a look at it.

@lolonois Thanks. I just tried this approach, and it worked, however it disabled the ability to run games under every other emulator I tested. I disabled vc4-fkms-v3d and reinstalled emulation station back to former state.

I just update the scummvm core and everything is working fine now . Thank you very much !

                        @windg Thanks for the confirmation.
We added a fix this Monday, but haven't checked if the binaries have been updated. The source install takes a very long time, even on a Pi4.

I got Scummvm 2.8.1. And I can't get the games to work. When I chose a game, I got sent back to the retropie menu. Got any ideas?
