I currently have a fresh Debian testing install in a VM with retropie installed ontop of it.

I have been using virt-manager to manage the VM and have passed through the controller to the VM, it is an 8bitdo SN30 Pro which presents it's self as an Xbox 360 controller. Best I can tell the underlining linux system can detect it just fine, lsusb shows it as an xbox controller, and I can cat /dev/inpu/js0 and input appears to work. Emulationstation is also able to detect it in that it knows an Xbox 360 controller is connected, but it appears simply not respond to any input.

This controller also works fine on retropie running on my RPI 3B+ and runs without issue.
