      MAME turned 25 today.

on 5 February, it will be twenty-five years since MAME 0.1 was released, supporting just five Z80-based games.

@clyde oh wow!! It's been that long?!

I remember getting one of the early versions in 1998 and completely flipping out when I loaded Galaxian and Pac-Man.

Joined the forum once it came out and had a ball beta testing many of the old school games they were first dumping. I built my first MAME arcade machine in 2001 because of MAME. Can't believe it's been that long!

So many great memories and fun times thanks to the work of the original team and those who progressed it. Bringing arcade machines back to life and memories of pizza parlors and extra quarters for the games.

Thank you for posting this! What a birthday to celebrate!

          Really amazing !
Congratulations to all the developers who worked on this in the past 25 years.
There has been quite some dedication.
Wonder what we will see in the next 25 years ;-)
