Balena Sound is an open-source software that allows you to stream music through Spotify Connect, Bluetooth, AirPlay, and more.

When compared to commercial solutions, this DIY method has the benefit of being free, open-source, and untethered from platforms and subscriptions.

You don't even need to connect to the internet to play music, which means you can simply play music from your local library if you choose.

10 minute video. Skip to 2:32 for the start of it.

Would be wonderful if this good be compiled and put into an Extras repo that can be an easy install through Emulation Station.

      Cheers on any responses. :)

Really ? Doesn't it require an account on their platform ?

        Is balenaSound free?
Yes! balenaSound requires you to sign up for a free balenaCloud account. Your first 10 devices are always free and full-featured.

Would it be terribly difficult to compile and placed in a repo?

If so, sorry I even mentioned this.

I just thought it would be a great addition to ES.

Could be, since from what I've seen they're distributing it as an entire OS image and not as an application. Is there a page with instructions on how to install the application on Raspbian ?

              No idea.

I saw this audio app in my Google News feed and thought to ask here for a port of it.

IMO (!!!) Kodi (which is great of course) is allready enough non-gaming-content for retropie.
I am not interested in any streaming of music at all on the Pi.
                As said: IMHO
