PCSX reARMed crashing

Hello everyone,
I am not all-that-tech savvy user of Retropie on my Pi Zero W and I am trying to run PCSX reARMed so I can get some classic playstation games going on since the lb version does not run well on the Pi Zero. I have read online that the reARMed is a good solution making many titles playable.
I have installed the emulator, but it only crashes to go back to the menu when I try to start a game. I am not sure what to do about it. I tried reinstalling Retropie, it did not help.

@mailo does pcsx provide a log after a failed run? see https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first for how to access it, and post it here. please also provide all the information requested here, such as game name, full file path, etc.

Interestingly Emulation Station will freeze if I try to exit to command line so I can see the logs. If I restart Retropie and NOT run PCSX I would exit to command line without any issue. However if I run specifically PCSX reARMed the system freezes upon trying to exit Emulation Station.
I have reinstalled once again Retropie and installed PCSX, this time it starts! I don't know what was the problem, I did that before and still the PCSX wouldn't run, this time it started but my controls don't work for some reason.
I will try some more to find a solution online and if not I'll created a topic.
