Best looking settings?

Re: Getting the best PSX experience on a Pi 4
I am wondering if anyone can help me get my playstation 1 games to look better. I am currently running a pi 4 with the 8gb ram option overclocked. I always run updates before playing anything on my pi so all emulators & retroarch should be up to date. All my retroarch settings are stock as far as I know (I haven't messed with anything besides cheat files for some games) I always use ir-pcsx-rearmed when playing ps1 game's with my video mode set to 87-11 (1920x1080 @60 Hz 16:9) on my 4K tcl TV. Those are my setting details and even though all the playstation games I play run great I just wish I could get it to look better. I have the same issue with psp game's. They run great it just looks like crap. Any suggestions on tweeks to retroarch that could help or should I bump up from 87-11 resolution option before game boots? Thanks in advance. ❤️

@stealthbushido increasing resolution via launch menu won't help PSX - the underlying emulator renders at a resolution set internally. you can adjust it via: https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Playstation-1/#video-double-internal-resolution
alternatively you can apply shaders: https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Shaders-and-Smoothing/- i say alternatively, because you wouldn't want CRT shaders AND double resolution, as by doubling the resolution you would ruin the scanline effect and it would look a mess. however the video smoothing effect would be fine to apply.
