Lr-Flycast core freeze randomly
-
Upgraded to the latest retropie 4.8 on the Pi 4 - 8GB, and trying to run NAOMI and Atomiswave with Lr-Flycast. It runs fine at first, but it will freeze randomly at different point of the game always. Tried both binary and build from source. And the same things will happen.
Wondering what might be the cause.
Thank you all the help in advance.
I.O.K.

Are you overclocking your PI ? Random freezes usually happen with an unstable overclock.
-
@mitu I don't think so, but I refresh install the latest system again, and things seems fine now. Not really sure what happened. Maybe is some old settings from the previous version or something.
-
@Foolz how is your overall performance with Flycast? Do you have screen tearing or any jittery movement?
-
I have the same issue. When playing Dead Or Alive 2 sometimes flycast freezes and I have to reboot Pi.

@GreenHawk84 for both NAOMI and Atomiswave games. They generally runs OK. Not perfect but good enough to be enjoyable. I also running at native resolution sense the mini arcade I am running these has only 1024*768 resolution. Screen tearing do happen, but not too bad, you can see them from time to time. Not enough that bothers me.
There will be games that runs slow

OK I lie, I think the freeze had been gone sense fresh reinstall. But I was wrong, it is still there. As I did more game play. It would still just freeze, and you can't do anything other than reboot. It seems that, if you just open up the game, and let it runs it "Trailer" without act playing the game. it will keep running. The freeze only happen when you actuall start playing, like pushing buttons or whatever control.
I only play Atomiswave and Naomi games with default settings. So no overcooking I assume. This is very annoying..... (I didn't try dreamcast games.)

@Foolz I haven't had problems on my pi haven't updated it but my PC version seems to be having these issues. Not sure if it has to do with a core update for flycast.
