Hello, first time I set up my raspberry pi4 I played Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and it worked just fine. I then had to reinstall retropie (same Pi, same Version, same Controller) due to Problems with a different game. After that Harry Potter keeps freezing in the first scene after starting a new game (not in the game menu). I think there should be audio to the text in the opening scene but there isnt. When the book opens the first page it freezes.
I read about that Problem but didnt find a solution for retropie (lr-pscx-rearmed). And im confused why it used to work. I tried 4 different roms but same Problem (USA, EU,..)

Pi Model or other hardware: PI4 - 4gb
      Power Supply used: Official
      RetroPie Version Used: 4.8
Built From: Pre made SD Image on RetroPie
USB Devices connected: 2x Data Frog PS2 Style
Controller used: Data Frog PS2 Style Controller
      Error messages received: -
      Verbose log (if relevant):
Guide used: (Mention if you followed a guide)
      File: -
Emulator: (Name of emulator - if applicable) lr-pcsx-rearmed

Parasite Eve II have the same issue with the default clock speed (57) that i believe is low. I have set mine to 72 and the games running better. You can use and lr-duckstation emulator that have better accuracy and fewer problems with games.

@windg the more games i try the more Problems i get with psx games.

Crash Bash 4 players working but freezes in loading screens. Only a few tracks work

Crash Team Racing. Only 2 players get recognized. Tried multitap off, Multitap port 1, multitap port2, multitap port 1&2, change device type to standard, dualshock... nothing... oher games work fine with different variations of those settings like micro manaics, micro machines and bomberman.

Twisted Metal works in the main menu with 4 controllers (all can scroll) once you want to chose the cars for multiplayer only controller 1 works and he other stop working an you cant play. I'ts really annyoing.

Which version of duckstation do i have to use: AArch, armv7 or x64? May that will work. Thanks!

The correct version is armv7 but you don't have to choose. Just install lr-duckstation with the @Darksavior script from this topic: https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/32400/lr-duckstation-disappear/15?_=1650130438003 ,or with @ExarKunIv RetroPIe-Extra : https://github.com/Exarkuniv/RetroPie-Extra .

I have the same problem since i updated to Retropie 4.8. Older version worked well.

Changing the psx clock speed to 100 worked and i got after the first cutscene but later i cannot move around if i do not net set it back to 57 (the default value)

But with this value some conversations did not work. Any ideas?

@Tanzbärli Try to lower the clock speed from 100 to 72 because is to high. If this don't work, then the only option you have is to install lr-duckstation or lr-swanstation from the Exarkuniv RetroPie-Extra repo :https://github.com/Exarkuniv/RetroPie-Extra .

Thank you very much. 72 seems to be the value where all seems to work so far. I tried some values (i remember 77) but only 72 seems to be fully ok.

I played the whole "Chamber of secrets" game with Retropie 4.7 and i never had a problem. The problem must have to do with an update of the emulation of PS1

All other PS1 games i tried seem to work but Harry Potter (Chamber of secrets and philosophers stone) make the problems. Hope this new value workes generally, as far as i know you can set it only for the emulator and not for one game.

@Tanzbärli i think is possible if you use an override for the game from Retroarch menu.

Also, if you have a github account you can report the issue here : https://github.com/notaz/pcsx_rearmed/issues so the developer of pcsxrearmed, to have a look into this. Thanks

Some ps1 games are a crashfest on pcsx_rearmed but mostly fixed when using duckstation or swanstation.
