HELP! I need img to pi 3 a +
-
@mitu Hello! No, maybe the mistake is that they didn't read the title correctly haha. I don't have a pi 1a, it's a Pi3A+. THAT IS THE IMAGE I'm looking for and I can't get it. :(
-
@neo2216 so when you flash the above download 2-3pi image to the sd card, what error are you getting?
Edit:- The bit about using a 3b into a 3a to proceed and get it working; is that from this below ETA Prime videos comments? I think they're referring to if you brought a 3b and you then brought a 3a and wanted to test you can do that process they outline. (This video is the one I mean:-
But in your case, you can just go ahead download the RetroPie version that is for pi 2, pi3 or pi zero 2 w, that version will work on any of the pi 3 variants and you should be up and running ok

@neo2216 What's the error you're getting ? As previous posters said, the Pi2/3 is the image that should work.
Is the Raspbian image from raspberrypi.com working with your Pi ? -
@retropieuser555 No, let's go again.
I HAVE A Pi 3A+. From what I read in many forums (INCLUDING THE VIDEO YOU SEND ME) there is no image for this board. IF I DOWNLOAD the official retropie 1/2/3/zero, IT DOESN'T WORK. It installs, but at the end of the installation (when you install it for the first time) an error appears saying "EMULATION STATION CRASHED!) if this your first boot of retropie, make sure you are using the correct image of your system. Probe downloading it from official retropie, and also with the automatic raspberry pi installer, both do the same. IF YOU SEE THE VIDEO; there it says that for it to work on a pi 3a+ you have to install it on a pi3b and then edit a file, and then pass the sd to pi 3a+.
BUT THERE IS NO OFFICIAL IMAGE FOR THE PI 3 A+.
that's why I'm doing this tread because I know that YES IT DOES go back to the 3a+, to see if someone has that image already "MANUALLY CORRECTED" to share it with me.

@neo2216 said in HELP! I need img to pi 3 a +:
BUT THERE IS NO OFFICIAL IMAGE FOR THE PI 3 A+.
Then your question is resolved.

@neo2216 the Pi2/3 image is the right one. The video referenced is an old video (from 2018), from before RetroPie supported the board. The Pi2/3 images support the 3A+ since RetroPie 4.5.
...an error appears saying "EMULATION STATION CRASHED!) if this your first boot of retropie
Ok, so this is the actual error. At the command prompt, run
emulationstation --debug
and post the log that the command produces. Same log can be found in
$HOME/.emulationstation/es_log.txt
- post the contents of this file. Do you have any controllers/keyboards connected to the board - can you add some info about them - what model/connection ?Also, please don't repeat your replies to each user, once is enough since any participant in the topic gets notified of new replies to the topic.

@wmarcio NO, because there are people with pi 3a+ using retropie, who do it with the method mentioned ABOVE. BUT the issue is that for that method you need a pi 3b to correct it and then pass it to the A+. That is why I consult here, in case someone HAS THE IMAGE ALREADY CORRECTED READY.

Hello, did you solve the problem?. You got a Retropie image that works on your Raspberry 3A+. I also want to buy a Raspberry 3A+ to play video games, but I'm not safe. I'm from Argentina

@neo2216 if you cant get an image to run, you can also install retropie on the default raspberry pi os using these instructions:
Install retropie in raspbian os
This is how i have installed it.
