Pi Model 4B 4GB, official Power Supply running RetroPie 4.8.1 (ee438544)
      Built from: retropie-buster-4.8-rpi4_400.img.gz
      Emulator: lr-mame2016 installed via binary
How to replicate the problem: load up any game and choose one of the vertical shaders in the libretro menu (eg. crt-pi-vertical, zfast_crt_standard_vertical)

The scanlines are along the horizontal axis and are not rotated, is there any option within the libretro menu I am missing (I assumed the rotation to be automatic (as in lr-mame2003+)) which has to be set?

        I thinks it's a but bug - see https://github.com/libretro/mame2016-libretro/issues/51

@mitu yes, it's a bug, basically mame2016 and mame are sending vertical content while telling RA it's horizontal, i recommend avoiding those 2 cores for vertical games whenever possible.

@Ashpool Note that if you were looking into more recent MAME vintages to fix emulation issues present in older ones, FBNeo would be a solid alternative and doesn't have the rotation bug.
