Is there any way to completely remove the button configuration in Retroarch without editing the config file with an editor each time? Specifically, it's about the test and MAME button within MAME2010, which are always activated when pressing the analog sticks on my controller (R3 & L3). With the Start button you can set the assignment back to the default value that was set via Emulationstation (Auto) and with the X button you can remove the key assignment on the keyboard. There doesn't seem to be a way to completely remove the button assignment on the joypad. Anyone know advice?

Have you tried to save the core remap after modifying the mapping ? See https://retropie.org.uk/docs/RetroArch-Configuration/#core-input-remapping.

@mitu Thanks! I forgot, that individual controller settings can be done by the quick menu. I set it to "---" now an it works.
