      I've recently been using core remapping for all my six-button controllers to great success. I used a combination of Retropie docs and my own experimenting to ensure each six-button systems (IE: Sega Genesis, Sega CD, etc) are all working perfectly. I even downloaded a bunch of old Genesis manuals to test the button layouts against what is listed for each game back then (it all checks out).

      All except for PicoDrive, which does not wanna play well with others.

      So for some reason, when I set everything up exactly as it should be on the core remapping inside PicoDrive, no matter what game I select on 32x, it simply does not what to acknowledge/recognize the top three buttons (x, y, z).

      Is this a glitch or bug? Because it's the exact same controller and layout that should be used for Genesis/Sega CD and those work great.

        @AlphaBetaPie https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Mega-Drive-Genesis/#6-button-controller

        (I’ve just submitted a correction to these docs that may or may not be live by the time you click this link, as obviously the core option to change it to is “6 button controller” not “dual shock” :) )

            @mitu submitted now.. did it through the mobile interface and evidently didn’t actually create the PR

              So configuring the six-button in Pico isn't doable at present, but will be when something is updated on the backend?

                I guess you haven't bothered to read the linked doc.

                  Yes, I have. I've already done everything it lists (as I mention in my previous post). The doc doesn't seem to be accurate for picodrive. It says to set the core settings to six button. That is not an option. It only has Retropad, Retropad with Analog and None. Then it says "See Core Options". But that link is broken. Hence why I'm stuck.

                      my bad, yet a google for "retropie core options" is going to take you to the right place (just like a google for "retropie picodrive 6 button" would ;) )

                        Yeah, it looks like I assumed the official doc was still the page I needed to check. I was able to find that now (although it was a bit confusing since those are two different things...settings vs controls). However, it's working now.

                        But now I'm wondering about something. None of the other emulators that use the six-button controllers require me to force the six-button settings in the Retroarch core first (or at least the Sega-based ones). With core remapping, I'm able to get them to cooperate. Would there be any benefit to turning on six-button in the other cores (where core remapping is already working fine)?
