      Hello, I'm having this problem where sometimes when I turn on my raspberry pi it doesn't load the roms from my USB, even though usbromservice is on. The only fix I've found is going into RetroPie setup and disabling then enabling it but after a while it goes back to not working. Any fixes for this?

        Please add some info about your setup, as detailed in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.

        What kind of external USB storage are you using ? Is it an USB stick or a HDD ? Is it powered from the PI or does it have it's own external power ?

          @mitu
          Pi Model or other hardware: Raspberry Pi 4
          Power Supply used: Canakit bundle power supply
          RetroPie Version Used (eg 3.6, 3.8.1, 4.1 - do not write latest): 4.8.2
          Built From: raspberry Pi imager on 32GB SD card
          USB Devices connected: 128GB USB and USB keyboard
          Controller used: n/a
          Error messages received: n/a

          It's a 128 GB USB powered by the Pi, it's worked fine before but now I have the problem stated above.

            When it's not working, can you run

            systemctl status usbmount@dev-sda1

            and post the output ? It could be just a mount timing issue - the disk is not mounted on time, before EmulationStation starts.
            If you restart EmulationStatio, does it start to work ?

              @mitu It seems to work fine now, but if it starts to mess up again I'll let you know, thank you.
