Retropie cannot connect to router with OpenWRT
-
Hello,
I have a Raspberry Pi 4 4gb running retropie. I have been struggling to get it to connect to my home router which runs OpenWRT v21.02.3 with 2.4ghz and 5ghz channels working. All my existing devices work perfectly on the router - phones and laptops etc. I am running WPA3 on 5ghz and WPA2 on 2.4ghz. Retropie finds only the 2.4ghz channel when using the wifi option within the Retropie settings (graphical interface) but fails to connect. I have connected an ethernet cable, this works fine. I am also unable to connect to wifi using retropie-config.
I have also upgraded the latest pi 4 firmware a few days ago - after realising there was a problem a year or 2 ago - given my device is a couple of years old. No change. I have also updated the retropie software - running 4.8 and this was the image I used on my memory card during installation.
I have also setup a wpa_supplicant.conf file and this does not also work. I have configured this to my 2.4ghz network. Still no wifi connection.
I have made my 2.4ghz frequency to channel 6 - this also does not change anything.
I have taken the pi to a friends house and their router connected fine - using the Wifi setting within the Retropie (graphical user inteface). So wifi clearly works on the device, it just seems to be my router/wifi settings.
If any of you have any ideas, I would be greatful as I am out of options.
Many thanks,
David
