Pi Model or other hardware: 3 Model B
Power Supply used: Official Raspberri Pi PSU
      RetroPie Version Used: 4.8
Built From: Pre made SD Image on RetroPie website
      USB Devices connected: Keyboard
      Controller used: Xbox 360 controller
Emulator: Amiberry v5.3 updated from binary

      Hello,

Since updating Amiberry to the latest version, I can't seem to get sound from the 3.5mm headphone jack - it just outputs sound via HDMI. I have set the Audio option in RetroPie to "Headphones" and it's working correctly for all my other emulators.

I have set the audio option to "Headphones" in both the main menu accessible from Menu -> Sound Settings -> Audio Device and the RetroPie Configuration option.

If I start Amiberry, I can see that the default output under Sound is: SDL2: bcm2835 HDMI 1, bcm2835 HDMI 1. It's as if Amiberry isn't inheriting the sound config from RetroPie.

If I change it to "SDL2: bcm2835 Headphones, bcm2835 Headphones", it doesn't seem to save the setting when I exit.

I've had a look at the amiberry.conf file, but there doesn't seem to be any setting to force sound through the headphone jack.

Any ideas? It worked fine with the previous version of Amiberry.

      Regards,
      Paul

        @iss05e

In order to have sound in my "Headphone", I had to put default_soundcard=1 in /opt/retropie/configs/amiga/amiberry/conf/amiberry.conf

No other settings changes needed for me

Thanks for responding DTEAM. I tried that but still no luck.

I've solved this now. From RetroPie, I had to do the following:

Select Amiga from the RetroPie emulator list
          Go to "+START AMIBERRY"
Go to "Sound" and change to headphones in the drop-down options
          Go to "Configurations"
          Select "Save"

Amiberry then saves a UAE default configuration, with headphone as the default sound output.

The previous version of Amiberry inherited the Audio options set in RetroPie. I guess Amiberry v5.3 no longer does this.

It didn't, it was just a concidence that it worked. It probably just used the 'default' (which is set via the RetroPie audio settings).
