Based on my research, the "Warning: Audio Samples Not Found" is a common issue when using MAME on games like Donkey Kong, Galaga and others. However, what I find strange is that even with skip_warnings_enabled and skip_disclimaer_enabled, I still get this notice.

I do have system notices left on, as I need them in other areas. But why is MAME still generating this notice in Retropie, after I have set these core options? I'd rather just ignore it for now and not see it every time I load.

if you're talking about mame2003/+ (i'm guessing since you didn't fill out https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first ) skip warnings/disclaimer are for the black and white full-screen messages on game load. how are these warnings delivered? if they're via overlaid text/pop-ups, then they're not the warnings the core options touches.

i mean you could just fix the issue? :) samples are easy to source, and it's not ideal to have no/wrong sound.

Without samples for Donkey Kong there are A LOT of missing sounds. Some games are nowhere near "as intended". I agree that sourcing the samples is your simplest (and highly recommended IMO) fix.

Good, because that was going to be my next question anyway. So this will fix two birds with one stone.

However, is asking where to "source" these audio samples in the same boat as asking how to get/where to get ROMs to download?

            UPDATE:

Never mind, I found them and now things are all good. Thanks!
