Pi Model or other hardware: Raspberry Pi 4 Model B Rev 1.1
      Power Supply used: Canakit supplied
      RetroPie Version Used: 4.8.2
Built From: Pre made SD Image on RetroPie website
      USB Devices connected: Wireless keyboard
Controller used: Logitech F310 Wired Gamepad
      Error messages received: None
      Verbose log (if relevant): NA
      Guide used:
      File: NA
      Emulator: NA
      Attachment of config files: NA
How to replicate the problem: See below

I'm trying to get the RetroPie to work with my controller. In the Emulation Station I'm able to configure the controller and everything works there. I then start a game of MarioKart and the mappings are wonky, to the point that I can't figure out how to exit the game and have to kill the game from the command line.

The start button is mapped to the right trigger of the controller, the D pad does work.

When the game is starting up, there is a white box that says press a button to configure. I have tried several different buttons and nothing happens.

I have gone into the retropie_setup.sh and updated in there. I've updated the OS with sudo apt-get update ; sudo apt-get dist-upgrade.

I've tried searching for similar topics and while I've found a few things, nothing has worked from those.

Any idea what I need to do?

I have the same Controller and it is working fine here with 4.8.2 .

Let's try to reset input configuration:

RestroPIe-Setup > Configuration > emulationstation > Clear/Reset ES input configuration. After that, restart and configure again the controller.

Also, the controller have a small button in the back, set this to X position.

My English isn't at a good level.
