I've made a running bartop years ago. At that time, I bought a ControlBlock and connected and installed it to the Raspberry Pi 2b.
Over the years it works pretty well.
Yesterday I wanted to play again, start the bartop and get lots of errors. Maybe the SD-card has had a problem.
So I started to make a new installation. Before of that I checked the SD-card and it doesn't have problems. Anyway.
I follow the installation of RetroPie in several YT videos and of the ControlBlock on the website as well as in the official video.
Everything seems to be fine, but when I try to test it with jstest, there's no responst of sticks and buttons of Joystick 1 and 2.
But when I use the switch to shotdown, that works.
So the ControlBlock should be connected correct to the RPi.
But where can I check for the problem anymore?
      Any ideas?

      Thanks.

@MarCologne Hi! Maybe there is a connection issue with one of the wires or some tiny corrosion that leads to a disconnection of the signals.

To check that the ControlBlock itself is working you could use a jumper wire and, e.g., short GND with one of the button inputs of the ControlBlock. That should be seen as a button press when running jstest (Take care for looking at the right player 1 or 2, I tricked myself several times with this ;-) ).

Maybe that gives you an idea how to proceed?

Let me know if I can be of any further help.

          Hi,

thanks for your answer, which I see now.
Last weekend I've had install the old version of the driver, because I think I own the first version and there it works.
So it was my failure :)

          Regards, Marco
