      Giving DOSBOX Pure a try and one thing I noticed is that every time I start a game, it creates a new file in my /pc ROMs directory with .pure.zip and I wind up with two versions of each game in my listing:

      Command and Conquer.zip
      Command and Conquer.pure.zip

      Any way to avoid this so those files don’t show up on my game list?

        Nevermind. Figured it out.

        Added the following to my retorarch.cfg file in my /opt/retropie/configs/pc directory:

        savefile_directory = "/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/pc_save_files"
        savestate_directory = "/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/pc_save_files"

        Didn't realize those were "save files" that included the autostart data that DOSBOX Pure reads when booting the rom at first so now it all makes sense.

          Glad you figured it out. Personally I love Dosbox pure. The way it lets you pick files to execute, then set an autostart is brilliant for first install. And the way it autoconfigures a controller map for a good chunk of games. Quite excellent.
