[Solved] Configuring Logitech Freedom 2.4 Cordless Joystick
-
Retropie running on RPi 2B. Have keyboard and Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2 configured and working. Hoping to add my (old) Logitech Freedom 2.4 Cordless Joystick. System does not recognize the joystick. Is there a set of drivers that must be added to get this working? Or, is this joystick simply not compatible? Any help is appreciated.

I can't find much info on the Linux compatibility with this joystick, except this page, which claims is supported.
Can you plug in the joystick dongle and post the output of the following commands:
cat /proc/bus/input/devices
lsusb

@mitu Thanks for the quick response. Responses to the commands you recommend (below) appear to confirm recognition of my Freedom 2.4 joystick. I assume I'll be able to configure the joystick through the 'manual' process.
Still a bit of a novice with Retropie. Would like joystick and rumblepad to be gaming options. -
@mitu oops forgot to attach responses...

Looks like it's recognized by Linux.
What did you mean by system does not recognize the joystick ? Did you try to configure it in EmulationStation (as explained in the docs) and it's not recognized by the input configuration dialog ?

@mitu Attempted to configure Freedom 2.4 joystick manually (from RetroPie screen selected 'configuration editor', 'advanced configuration', 'manually edit global configs'). Freedom 2.4 joystick does not show up in the resulting list. What might my next steps be?

@mitu Please disregard previous post. My RetroPie is now 'seeing' my Freedom 2.4 joystick, and configuration is possible. Just have to settle on proper button assignments. Thanks for your assistance.
How do I mark this as 'solved'? -
