Magazine or Book Companions/Compendiums of Retro Japanese Games (in English)?

Does anyone know of any very good magazines or book companion/compendiums on retro-Japanese games for the MSX, PC-98, PC-88, X68000, PC Engine, Famicom, Super Famicom, etc? I regularly buy Retro Gamer magazine from england and get many compendiums from amazon, but they are all about US or European games and game systems. I've seen spotty articles on Japanese games or books on perhaps role playing games only. No guides of great japanese msx games, pc-98 games, etc..anything listed above..... The crux is i supposed there are many in japanese, but i'm looking for english.

@WeirdH Nice site. Great non japanese stuff except for that cool history of japanese rpg. It has that listed. I'm looking for other things, though. Thanks though!!
