      Running RetroPie 4.3 on a Pi 3B. Got it used, RetroPie already installed. Much of this is beyond me, I have tried following tutorials.

      I installed PCSX and put a few .chd files in roms/psx, all are individual discs for two different games.

      PS does not come up on the carousel of games at start. #

        You version of RetroPie is old and the PS1 emulator doesn't support .chd files. You should install the latest version (from https://retropie.org.uk/download) to have .chd support or you can also copy the games in a format understood by your version (.iso or .cue/.bin disc images).
