I am very new to retropie but loving it! The ONE thing my wife wanted was scramble on Vectrex.... I have several Vectrex games that work just fine but several also load up, select number of players, game mode etc but on launch just give a blank screen. They do not go any further.
I am using a canakit raspberypi 3b+ and installed using the imager from the retropie site. I ran a check and there are no updates available.
      Thanks!
      Chris

@cgutzmer More information as requested here would be helpfull.

Assuming you are using lr-vecx, it may be that your romset is the culprit. I just tried with scramble.bin that came (and still comes) bundled with an old and well known (upstream/non lr) vectrex emulator, claiming in it's readme that those are 100% legit and as even computer magazine download sides incorporating that emulator aren't excluding the roms from the download and there are also many other sides, that are otherwise strict on a no links to roms policy, seem to have (in this case) no problem with linking to that one (emulator, including roms download). But you won't be getting any links here from me (as I am still not 100% sure about the legal status of those roms). As that emulator I am thinking about is even recommended on some ubuntu wikis, I won't think that you will have any problems in finding it.

P.S.: According to nonmame and within their evaulation criteria, mame or better to say mess' vectrex emulation is en par or better in comparisson to other emulators, so that may be another option for you.

@Ashpool P.S. Vectrex is one of the few games released fully into the public domain as long as its not for profit.

Got the problem figured out. It was PEBCAK apparently. Not to be confused with ID10T errors. I had to pull the games out of the .7z archives then all worked well. My wife is so happy she gets to play vectrex!
