Unusual heating without emulation.
-
Hello everybody
I'm resuming a project I did last year.
As I got excited running, in a very playable way, on an old Raspberry Pi (model 1B) systems like SNES, CPS1 and CPS2, NEOGEO and even some PS1 games, I was curious to know if it would also run on a Raspberry Pi Zero.
I managed to get a RPI Zero W here to test.
However, I am noticing unusual warming. And the heating is not in the emulation, but just by being stopped in the Theme menu. The theme I'm using is pixel-metadata. It doesn't have videos just game covers and descriptions. I'm not using any background sound either, I just enabled a theme scrolling sound
I've already done some actions, such as placing a heatsink and disabling the wifi, to see if that would influence the temperature.
But from what I've seen, it hasn't affected anything with regard to heating, just by being stopped in the theme menu.
Any idea what might be going on...?
Is the problem with the theme? Or because I'm using Retropie 4.3?

If the heating is still present if you exit EmulationStation, then the problem is somewhere else - just exit EmulationStation and leave the system to run for a while.

I don't think the version has any influence, but why use such an old version ? Do you have anything running in the background besides EmulationStation (music scripts, input handling scripts) ?
Did you do any soldering/modifications on the Pi ?
Contributions to the project are always appreciated, so if you would like to support us with a donation you can do so here.
