      Hi all

I’m going to build a small tabletop unit, single player and my plan was to use a salvaged LCD display which I have in the parts bin. The driver won’t work for some reason but it is probably a good thing, as I’ll buy a new smaller display, in order to make the whole unit smaller.

As I’m looking at LCD displays, there is a variation of resolution and I’ve read about lag with frame rates etc. just wanted general advice to what is best suited, LCD and what problems this mag cause.
Now I know display can be very subjective but from a playing point of view. Would something like these be suitable?

I’m assuming the 1280x800 would be the better option?
The console’s I’m looking at will be Master System, Nintento, SNES. Or at least for now. I’ll be using a Pi4, which has become free from a project. Not sure if it is 1gb or 2gb and I’ve got a Picade Hat for buttons. So won’t be mounting the display on the Pi

      Thank you

@magzilla This may be a bit late since your original post was in April, but I thought others might be interested as well.

Over on the MiSTer FPGA forums there's been a lot of interest in this display:

It's a 9.7" iPad-ish display that can run at up to 2048x1536(but supports lower modes as well). I bought one and it's extremely good value for money, although you do need to purchase some extras (a better stand, a better video cable are probably musts).

Comes in three slightly different configuration - I got the miniHDMI/USB C version. Very happy with it. So far I've tried it with a MiSTerFPGA, a TheC64 and a Raspberry Pi 4 (running Raspberry Pi OS but I see no reason it wouldn't work with RetroPie)

Here it is running on my MiSTer:
