Hello, I recently purchased a "8bitdo Pro 2" gamepad and made it working with Retropie accordingly to this guide but (my mistake) without upgrading the firmware first.
By the way, I tested the controller with several games and it worked perfectly.

Then, I decided to update the firmware to the last version available (3.0), so I had to pair the device again.
I can pair it effortlessy using the "Retropie setup" as I did before; after restarting the system the "Configure input" says "3 gamepads detected" (I have two wired controllers as well), so I assume the 8bitdo is correctly recognized, but when I press any button it doesn't react at all.
I tried the whole thing several times, without luck.

      Any suggestion?

Remove any Bluetooth pairing for the pad and re-pair it again, then re-try the input configuration.

Does the controller works outside EmulationStation ?
If you test it with jstest, are the inputs registered ?

              Ok, I solved the issue.
The pad has a switch on its back to commute between different modes (Windows, Mac and so on).
It must be set to 'X' in order to be used with Raspberry; I found this suggestion on a Reddit post, since it wasn't mentioned in the walkthroughs I read on the web (or at least I missed it)...
By the way, I paired the controller again and tested it successfully with several games!
