Hi. Looking for some help please.

I have a Retropie image on a Pi 3B Plus with 2 player controls using x2 usb encoder boards with joysticks and buttons connected to each. Both 1 player and 2 player usb encoder boards are matched meaning they each have the same amount of joysticks and buttons.... as years ago I ran into a problem of the controls not working in games if both usb encoder boards were not perfectly matched in emulation station.

I tried adding the Aimtrack light gun to my setup today and as soon as I have it plugged into a USB port on the Pi emulation station recognises it as a gamepad. However when I try and play a normal (non light gun) game my normal controls (joystick and buttons) won't work in game. As soon as I unplug the lightgun from it's usb port my normal controls work perfectly again.

I assume there must be a correct way to get my controls and light gun setup properly so they play nice together just not sure how?

If anyone has any words of advice or wisdom it would be greatly appreciated.

      Thanks

      Rab

It's probably because the lightgun takes over as Player 1 and the encoders are set as P2/P3.

Assuming you're using RetroArch, you can re-order the gamepads using either the Configuration Editor or @meleu's Joystick configuration script.

@mitu Thank you. Your fix worked. I really appreciate you taking the time to help as this was driving me crazy. All I need now is to figure out how to dial in the adjustments for this light gun.. gameplay isn't exactly smooth at the moment.

            Thanks again.
