Help with transfer problems

Hi, I have a raspberrypi 3a+ , I'm running the latest o.s. for retropie. The o.s. image is written on a 64 gig sd card, and I have my roms on a separate thumb drive ( w/ retropie-mount folder). A few days ago, while transferring ps1 roms, ( I transfer through ssh client) I got an error message asking to overwrite bin files 1&2, I've tried all options (overwrite, skip, rename) but once I try the rom it doesn't work, the folder is empty or the bin files show up w/ 0 bytes. I can't for the life of me figure out why. This build has been up and running for a few months. I tried formatting my thumb drive, and redoing the image, but now every time I try to transfer new roms (only the ones with bin files) I get this message. Has anyone experienced this before? My thumb drive is 1tb, and I'm only using about 150 gigs.

@avrod7755 I'd look into setting up SFTP (or Samba Shares if you use windows) for transferring roms. For big cd based systems it takes ages over usb. You can monitor the transfer properly and it's less fiddly by SFTP (can even do it by your smartphone if you wish)
